Los Ambasadores / Our Ambassadors

Part of ¡Adelante!’s mission to invest in tomorrow’s leaders is carried out through maintaining a database of past and present ¡Adelante! Scholars and creating a community of colleagues that work together and exchange ideas and experiences that can help further each other’s academic and/ or professional success. 

Some Alumni keep in touch with corporate mentors and representatives they met through an ¡Adelante! Internship or through our Leadership Institute.  Mr. Oscar Ibarra is one such example of realizing the importance of creating and maintaining connections with professionals he met as a student throughout his professional career.

Mr. Ibarra, now working with Hewlett Packard, was an ¡Adelante! Scholar in 1993.  He has expressed his gratitude to the ¡Adelante! Fund for providing the funds he needed to complete his undergraduate degree at UCLA which led him to finish his Masters in Northwestern.  He moved on to a successful career with Nissan and, in October 2004, became president and CEO of KPS Samsung in the Americas.  In June of 2006, Mr. Ibarra's career takes him to Hewlett Packard to share his expertise in leading emerging international markets.
