Andria Castillo

Executive Director

Andria moved to San Antonio, TX over 5 years ago and has been the Executive Director at the Adelante Fund since 2007.  Prior to her work at Adelante, she was the Director of Children's Initiatives at United Way of Bexar County.  Previously, she lived in De Moines, Iowa for 11 years.  During those 11 years, Andria attended Central College in Pella, IA to obtain an undergraduate degree in Business Management and a minor in Spanish and then the University of Iowa for her MBA.

While living in Iowa, Andria worked at Central College as a Multicultural Recruiter.  Finally, Andria's last position in Iowa was as an Executive Director of the largest Latino community based non-profit in Iowa, Hispanic Educational Resources (H.E.R.).  During her 4 years at H.E.R., they achieved the highest accreditation for an early childhood center through the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

 

 

Daniel Valenzuela

Assistant Manager of Student Affairs

Daniel Valenzuela, an Adelante Alumnus, currently manages and oversees students programs for the Adelante Fund.  Since 2008, Daniel has managed student recruitment for the annual National Leadership Institute & Recruitment Fair Conferences.  He assists with online marketing and with corporate sponsorships for Adelante's various events and activities.  Before becoming a part of the Adelante team, he has worked for various companies such as Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Miller Brewing Company (now MillerCoors), and First Light Federal Credit Union.  Daniel earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Management from the University of Texas at El Paso.

 

 

Sarah Ramos

Program Coordinator

Sarah originally began her career with Adelante as an intern in 2008.  In that time, she has created two online networking profiles for current Adelante scholars and alumni and has been involved in various Adelante events.  She currently facilitates Adelante's scholarship application process, volunteer efforts and alumni relations.  Sarah received her B.A. in Psychology and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Bilingual/Bicultural studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
